Bovine ITIH4 is a biomarker for the diagnosis and monitoring of infectious or inflammatory processes in cattle. It shows a slower but more protracted response than haptoglobin. Thus the combination of both biomarkers allows detecting health problems and lack of well-being in the herd with great sensitivity. Acuvet ELISA is a species-specific, sensitive and reliable test. It allows measuring ITIH4 not only in serum but in milk where its increase is indicative of mastitis<\/p>\n
